Pharma Services Portfolio: DNA / RNA Extraction
Eurofins Medigenomix offers DNA and RNA extraction in large scale and of highest quality, based on different materials, like blood samples, buccal swabs or tissue samples. The company can look back on many years of experience in DNA and RNA preparation in the scope of clinical studies. For example, genomic DNA was extracted from frozen blood cells coming from several thousand samples. On behalf of major pharma companies and clinical research groups extraction projects have been carried out in accordance with the requirements for GCP / GLP.
Eurofins Medigenomix offers DNA/RNA extractions for the following problems:
- Isolation of genomic DNA for example from EDTA whole blood samples, from buccal swabs and from tissue samples (e.g. tumor tissue)
- Isolation of RNA (total RNA, mRNA) for example from EDTA whole blood samples and from tissue samples
- Isolation of RNA (total RNA, mRNA) from leukocytes / leukocyte fractions (e.g. PBMCs)
- Isolation of bacterial and viral DNA and RNA from cultures, lysates, whole blood, serum, plasma, urine and FTA cards
- Blood count preparation (small and large blood count) / cell analysis using a Hematology-analyzer
- Biobanking
In addition to the extraction of DNA and RNA, we offer the following services:
- Quantification of the extracted DNA and RNA by OD measurement (230nm, 260nm, 280nm), PicoGreen, Ribogreen or Real Time PCR
- Quality control via agarose gel electrophoresis (random samples or as requested for all samples) and by measuring the A260:A280 and A260:A230 OD ratios
- Normalisation of DNA and RNA samples to a defined concentration
- Aliquoting of DNA and RNA samples in specific reaction tubes (single tubes and microtiter plates) for the purpose of biobanking
- Distribution of DNA and RNA samples into specific reaction tubes (e.g. microplate) based on a scheme provided by the customer
- Customer specific labeling of reaction tubes, e.g. with barcode labels
- Isolation of blood cells (PBMC) from whole blood including hematologic analysis for quality control (e.g. cell count and differentiation)
On request Eurofins Medigenomix organises the entire sample transport, including collection and provision of sample kits with appropriate collection containers, such as blood collection tubes.
